Monkey Forest Consulting Ltd.

Strategic Social Investment Specialist

The construction of a kindergarten playground

Tinh Gia District, Thanh Hoa Province, is undergoing a fundamental change from an agricultural to industrial lifestyle due to an influx of investment projects in the area. To ensure that the project-affected people in the local area would be prepared and benefit from the complex changes to come, the project has a dedicated social program to develop and invest in the community. This is the first corporate social investment program operating in accordance to the performance standard set out by IFC, World Bank, in Vietnam.

As the social performance specialist, my responsibility is to improve the living conditions of the local people by designing, implementing and managing social development and investment projects (vocational trades training, educational opportunities, livelihood restoration, health care, business development, etc.) for the project-affected community. My main project is Community Small Grants which seeks to build social and financial capital for the people through physical structure investment and construction such as kindergarten playgrounds, community sport parks and public gardens among others.

St. Kitts and Nevis

Delegation Member

St. Kitts and Nevis is a beautiful island country in the Caribbean. I was honored to be part of the delegation and the consultant of His Excellency, Mr. Patrice Nisbett - Minister of Foreign Affairs of St. Kitts Nevis - during his visit to Vietnam. It was a huge responsibility and a priviledge to help bring the two countries closer together and to witness diplomacy at its best. Plus, meeting the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister in a formal setting was an impressive experience.

Vingle Inc.

Marketing and Community Manager

Website: Vingle | My profile

Vingle is a start-up social network for people with the same passion and interest, headed by serial entrepreneurs Jiwon Moon and Changseong Ho. I had the opportunity to work with some of the best business-orientated people I have met in Korea here on digital marketing, building and improving the next big visual discovery tool of the virtual world in Korea. Though the time was short, the experience was a gateway that introduced me to the start-up culture and the potentials that it holds and I am truly grateful for what it has taught me.

CNN Travel

Journalist and Photographer

In 2011, CNN International expands its operation in Asia by devoting several new segments on its websites to the lifestyle and travel inspiration of different cities, one of them being Seoul. I was part of the first listing writers and photographers to join and help building the contents of the Seoul operation. My job was mainly traveling and finding the best attractions to visit in Korea and write short reviews about them. Unfortunately, I had to leave for France for my exchange program after the summer of 2011 so I could not contribute further to the development of the site.
